LORENZO GOLSER INTERVIEW
The Golf Club of Borgo di Luce I Monasteri Golf Resort & SPA, is directed by Lorenzo Golser and we had the pleasure to meet him and with the occasion we asked him some questions.
Lorenzo Golser, at first, wants to emphasize his immense love for golf and for his work. He’s a very curious person who likes to learn new things every day. Finally, he claims to have many flaws but… also some merit.
Let’s see what Lorenzo tells us about his passion for golf.
1. HOW LONG HAVE YOU PLAYED GOLF?
With pleasure I can say that I played golf for approximately thirty years.. and this is an advantage because as they say “in golf the hard part is the first thirty years then it becomes easy…”
2. HOW DID YOU GET CLOSE TO GOLF?
It all started when a friend insisted on taking me golfing and to be honest the idea no longer convinced me at all. So much so that, I still remember the answer “I’ll only play golf when I will be senile, snobby and half paralyzed”. Then I tried and at the same day I changed my mind, since then my passion for golf began.
3. WHO IS THE GOLF CHAMPION YOU ADMIRE MOST?
With no doubt the golf champion that I admire the most is Severiano Ballesteros, one of the strongest players of all time. If I have to say another name is will be Costantino Rocca, an Italian golfer who among other things was the first Italian to play for Europe in the Ryder Cup.
4. HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU SPEND TO PLAY GOLF?
To be honest, I can’t play golf as much as i will, due to work commitments. Especially now that I am the director of the Golf Club of Borgo di Luce I Monasteri Golf Resort & SPA, I haven’t much time but obviously I always love to play.
5. WHAT SATISFACTIONS DOES THIS SPORT GIVE TO YOU?
This sport gives you emotions every day. It gives you the opportunity to be constantly in contact with nature, admire wonderful fields and always discover different places. One aspect that I appreciate a lot about my work is, moreover, the opportunity to relate with many people and establish a relationship with them. The relationship that arises on the golf course is not a simple relationship, it establishes a bond that is difficult to achieve in years of knowledge. Finally, golf allows you to always get in the game.
6. WHAT IS THE FUNNIEST ANECDOTE OF YOUR GOLF LIFE?
I’ve got many of them to say, both on the field and outside. It’s difficult to find out the best one. I can tell you the last: a friend invited me to take a tour of I Monasteri. I should have only stayed three days but then something changed and after 3 months I had to go home to get some clothes.
7. CONVINCE THE READER TO COME AND PLAY WITH YOU
At the Golf Club of Borgo di Luce you can literally live the Sicily: a particular and very interesting thing is that you have the possibility to pick, depending on the periods, oranges, mandaranci, prickly pears (eye), medlar and lemons directly from the trees. About the field I can just say that it is simply exceptional, spectacular. And the resort is simply unique.
