SIMONE: BARMAN
Today we had the pleasure to interview Simone: the Bartender at I Monasteri Golf Resort & SPA.
He described himself as a simple, cheerful and determined guy who loves to relate to people in a charismatic way.
1. WHEN DID YOU START BARTENDING?
I started in a small Bar in Syracuse where I took care of helping the barman of the same place, like Barback. The more time went by, the more I realized that inside me the Barman’s passion began to grow. I asked, then, my manager, information about where I could start this journey: he advised me the Academy of Mythology in Milan. Initially I was very undecided then I convinced myself and enrolled in the academy!
One of the most beautiful things I could ever do.
Thanks to the courses of the Academy I had the opportunity to work as a Barman for Campari, for it was an immense satisfaction!
After my experience with Campari I started working independently in the tourism sector and my dream started to come true.
2. WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT BARTENDING?
From the bartender I love the stories behind each cocktail party. This work gives you the opportunity to express your imagination and creativity.
3. WHAT'S THE COCKTAIL YOU MOST IDENTIFY WITH?
Surely the American, with his story… thinks it goes back to the mid-1800s, whose creator: the famous Gaspare Campari.
4. WHAT'S THE BEST COCKTAIL?
My best cocktail is certainly the Sicilian American, a reinterpretation of the classic American. I also want to clarify that with this Cocktail I won the third place of the race with A.I.B.E.S.
5. WHERE DO YOU CURRENTLY WORK?
I currently work at I Monasteri Golf Resort & SPA, I chose it for its importance.. to embark on a professional path in one of the most beautiful and elegant structures in Syracuse. Here I found a team of professionals with whom I am very well and I hope to continue my career with this staff. It’s a company that allows you to make Drinks of a certain importance.
6. WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO WHOEVER WOULD LIKE TO TAKE THIS JOB?
I can say that those interested in undertaking this work must do so with passion and dedication. Because anything you do with love and passion happens automatically with a smile.
